Access to clean and safe drinking water is one of the most basic human necessities. Through its Hand Pump Project, the Foundation installs hand pumps in underprivileged, disaster-affected, and water-scarce communities to provide reliable access to safe drinking water. Following the devastating floods of 2022, the Foundation installed more than 50 hand pumps in the rural areas of Jalalpur Pirwala, enabling hundreds of families to gain access to clean and safe drinking water. This initiative played a vital role in protecting flood-affected communities from waterborne diseases while improving their daily living conditions. Prior to this, the Foundation had also installed eight hand pumps in the water-deficient regions of Interior Sindh and Tharparkar, providing local communities with a sustainable and long-term source of clean drinking water. The Hand Pump Project reflects the Foundation's commitment to improving public health, supporting vulnerable communities, and ensuring access to safe water as a fundamental human right.
